Established in 2002, Emerald Lawn Care was different from the beginning. Our professionals have always delivered personal service and a custom program. We want you to have a beautiful, thriving landscape, but we do not want to waste your money on unnecessary treatments that add needless chemicals into the environment.
Our Operations Manager
Josh Cull has been in the green industry for over 25 years. He earned a B.S. in Plant and Soil Science, with emphasis on Turfgrass Management from the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining our team, he spent 20 years as a golf course superintendent and has helped prepare courses for 9 different PGA Tour events, including 2 major championships. Josh believes in giving back to his profession and community. He has served on multiple boards, including the Midwest Association of Golf Course Superintendents and the Illinois Central College Horticulture Advisory Committee. He currently serves on the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association Turf committee where he helps educate members, and the public, on lawn care best management practices (BMPs) and promotes environmental stewardship within the green industry. He is a native of Kentucky and enjoys all things outdoors and spending time with his family.
Our Owner
Mark Utendorf, the owner of Emerald Lawn Care, is a long-time Northwest Suburban resident. He is committed to the community and is a past chairman of the District 15 Educational Foundation. He is a past president of the Schaumburg Prairie Center Arts Foundation and a former American Cancer Society regional board member.
Mark is a Certified Turfgrass Professional – Cool Season Lawns (CTP-CSL) and serves on the board of the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association. He previously served 2 terms as president of the Illinois Professional Lawn Care Association. He is a licensed Illinois pesticide applicator for turf and ornamentals and also holds a structural pest license.

Emerald Lawn Care is a proud member of the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association (ILCA), the Illinois Turfgrass Foundation (ITF), the Midwest Regional Turf Foundation (MRTF), and the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP). Emerald Lawn Care was pleased to be a recipient of the Lawn & Landscape magazine national Leadership Award.
